AllMusic Review by

A mixed bag of cowboy, hillbilly, country, novelty, and pop songs covering Robison's career from 1928 until 1936, including "My Darling Clementine" (which segues into "Annie Laurie" and "Camptown Races"), the delightful "In The Cumberland Mountains," "I Was Born In Old Wyoming," "Ramblin' Cowboy," "Smokey Mountain Bill," "Texas Dan," and the sad horse song "There's A Bridle Hangin' On The Wall." Amazingly, a lot of the material on this 25 song collection was cut in London in the 1930's, where Robison and the Pioneers were based for a time. The sound is exceptionally good, and the mix of country, jazz, blues, and pop influences--while not to everyone's liking--makes this record a fine addition to any 1920's or 1930's music collection.
