One of four compilations of Quin Ivy's Alabama soul sounds by obscure, unknown (to the masses) artists. Featured on this collection are Tony Borders, Bill Brandon, Don Varner, and Eddie Bradford (one track). Add to that the fact that many of these tracks were unreleased makes listening for the first time akin to 14 -- the number of tracks -- Crackerjack box surprises. The unabashed Southern flavors includes five gritty ones from Borders (e.g., "Polly Wally Doodle"), Brandon's "Full Grown Lovin' Man," Varner's "You Left the Water Running" (not the Maurice & Mac soul hit), and Bradford's lone contribution, "Can You Handle It."
