While none of the contributions to the Sonics tribute Here Ain't the Sonics come within a mile of matching the manic intensity of the originals, a few are credible homages. The Mono Men turn in a suitably misogynist take of "The Witch," awhile the Screaming Trees upholds the honor of the next generation of Washington-state rock on "Psycho." The best of the bunch is Mojo Nixon and Skid Roper's "Have Love Will Travel," an irreverent cover which underscores just how silly these tribute albums are.
