Healing Spirits: Guitar Chill incorporates acoustic guitar leads into nondescript new age backgrounds. Synthesizers hiss, nature effects surface here and there (waves crash behind the vague flamenco of "Siesta del Sol"), and there's even an occasional vocal, most notably on Richard Van Arp's "Cantamilla." Despite being called Guitar Chill, most of the selections lay the supporting instrumentation on way too thick. The result is a restrained set that has a few mild highlights (Calido's "Calor" has an attractive brood to it), but ultimately isn't strong enough to make a real impression, healing or otherwise.
