A 3" CD EP, Headnlokbuzter was released in 2001 and marked a departure of sorts for Fon. The music digs deeper into abstract electronica, leaving beats behind to focus on cycles and abstract yet playful constructions. Presented as a continuous 21-minute piece, it actually consists of a suite of scenes covering a wide range between minimal techno and sound art. On the cover, the group premiered its self-designed alphabet, a reduction of common letters to four-sided squares. If communication has been rendered inoperative, the music on the other hand remains a lot of fun -- not particularly original among the hundreds of European artists working in this vein of experimental electronica, but still an interesting artifact.
