Rhino's Greatest Movie Rock Hits collects ten pop hits that were also used in films, such as Jerry Lee Lewis' "Great Balls of Fire," which was featured in the 1989 biopic of the same name, as well as Ritchie Valens' "La Bamba," which gave its name to the 1987 film about Valens starring Lou Diamond Phillips. Ray Parker, Jr.'s hit theme to Ghostbusters and the Dixie Cups' "Iko Iko" (which was used in Rain Man) are among the other highlights of this collection, which also features songs by the Vogues, Jackie Wilson, the Contours, Michael Damian, and the Troggs. It's a solid collection of oldies and pop hits, but not a particularly interesting one, despite its thematic nature.
