This album is a selection of the young Turks who have brought the country-style accordion sound roaring back from the trashcan of history, updating it into a splendidly happening sound. Fefita La Grande, Francisco Ulloa, and the older Ciego de Nagua are here, but so are a bunch of younger up-and-comers. Most add a sax in the jovial lunacy called perico ripiao. The whole thing is as much re-creation as revival, and wonderfully so.
