This CD reissue has all ten selections from keyboardist Lonnie Liston Smith's album Reflections of a Golden Dream, plus four of the six cuts from his 1973 debut as a leader. The performances are essentially high-quality mood music, funky and a bit fusion-oriented, yet with moments of creativity. The personnel differs on most selections, with such supporting players as (on the 1973 set) bassist Cecil McBee and guitarist Joe Beck, and in 1976, Donald Smith on flute and vocals, the reeds of David Hubbard, and some background singers. A good introduction to Lonnie Liston Smith's early recordings.
