God Bless America features a variety of well-known patriotic songs that took on special meaning around the time of this collection's release in late 2001 just after the World Trade Center tragedy. Performances include "The Star Spangled Banner" performed by Rocco Scotti, Lee Greenwood's "God Bless the U.S.A.," and the Riders in the Sky's "There's a Star," in addition to nine others. President George Bush's "Address to Congress and Nation" is a particularly noteworthy inclusion at this album's end, placing the many songs on this album into a unique context.
