AllMusic Review by

A "revolution in a jewel case," Go-Kart MP300 Raceway collects 300 songs in the MP3 format from 150 bands. The totally punk and totally anticorporate Go-Kart has long been fighting the machine by releasing cheap compilations, giving away MP3 albums on its website, and publishing a highly critical open letter to the RIAA. Go-Kart MP300 Raceway goes even further by putting no copy protection on the MP3s and including instructions on how to burn regular CDs. The sheer volume of music here is intimidating, and it's not surprising that the quality of the songs and performances vary greatly. But Go-Kart makes great efforts in featuring music that at worst is merely exciting and the virtual MP3 player that is included helps sort it all out and can lead listeners to bands' websites. Even those with just a little exposure to modern punk should recognize some of the names (T.S.O.L., Lunachicks, Sick of It All), and quite a few unknowns merit further exploration. Even if there's little chance anyone can sit through the whole thing, popping a disc in and exploring around makes for a great time.
