A va-va-va-voom! sleeve featuring a nothing-but-for-fishnet-stockings clad Betty Page is the least of this single's appeal. Well, okay, not really, but French power-popsters Teen Appeal at least gives it the old Gallic try. "Girl" is tame, but pleasantly catchy enough, taking a few cues from future labelmate Dwight Twilley. "Vampirella" is maybe a bit too enamored of '80s bar band rawk, comfortable with everything from metal textures to the abundantly mainstream melody (fans of Eddie Money and Corey Hart get in line). Only the second release by Pop the Balloon, the label would get much better in a hurry.
