Based in San Antonio, La Diferenzia skirts the line between Tejano proper and more contemporary pop, complete with electronic instruments and over-slick productions. The music ranges from slower dance, as in the opening title track, to electronic salsa in "Antonieta" to basic R&B. "Por Siempre Mi Amor," while possibly coincidental, is a seemingly blatant cover of Boyz II Men's "I'll Make Love to You," complete with Wanya Morris-like outbursts of emotion in the proper spots. As soft, overproduced mid-'90s Latin R&B goes, it's not a bad pick. That said, one really has to be in the mood for soft, over-produced mid-'90s Latin R&B to start.
