As they gathered strength to write the follow-up to their popular breakthrough, The Great Milenko, the Insane Clown Posse busied themselves with panic attacks, assaults, bus accidents, restaurant brawls, cameos in porn films, and assembling Forgotten Freshness: Vols. 1-2. A double-disc set of B-sides, rarities, non-LP singles, unreleased tracks, and remixes, it's the mother lode for the hardcore juggalos. Of course, ICP are the kind of band that winds up only with hardcore fans, but even fans of The Great Milenko and Riddle Box may find that sorting through the 23 tracks is a bit of a chore, since there's a reason why many of these songs never made the album -- they're simply not very good. Ironically, amidst all this filler, there's Jason Nevins' clever remix of "Hocus Pocus," which only highlights just how pedestrian the rest of the material actually is, and it suggests that ICP would benefit from shaking up their rap-metal formula just a little bit.
