Opening with a rain as gentle and torrential as her voice, Katherine Farnham's debut release bursts into "My Shoes Are Leaking," a powerful tribute to lost love and the Timberland Boot Co. The title track is a soaring self-inspiration. The spiritually appreciative pacing of "Lucky contrasts in tune and tone with the dark, swaying techno slow dance "Call It Just Love." The album closes in a melancholy mood with the begging ballad "Love Me," which, as with so many of Farnham's songs, uses beautiful music to deal with upsetting topics. Despite a few over-adventurous vocalisms and perhaps a bit too much spirituality for some fans' tastes, Farnham's first offering is well-produced and professional and displays her many strengths as writer, singer, musician, producer, and all-around musical talent.
