Marvel's 2015 reboot of the Fantastic Four movie franchise features an unlikely collaborative score between veteran film composer Marco Beltrami and neo-classical icon Philip Glass. A melding of superhero bombast and the minimalist elements typical of Glass' work, the Fantastic Four soundtrack also incorporates electronic elements, electric guitar, and heavy percussion into its generally classical framework. Beltrami has a lengthy and diverse list of action, horror, and superhero film scores (Hellboy, Scream, World War Z) to his credit while Glass' film work has included everything from acclaimed documentaries (A Brief History of Time, Jiro Dreams of Sushi) to horror (Candyman) and war films (Hamburger Hill). This is the first collaboration between the two.
