Great Motown Songs is another in a long line of baffling reissues from the label. The budget-priced collection contains a scant 11 tracks, four of those courtesy of Diana Ross, begging the question of just why the set was compiled as a various artists collection in the first place. The remaining seven selections include hits from the Jackson 5 ("Never Can Say Goodbye"), the Temptations ("Just My Imagination [Running Away with Me]"), and the Commodores ("Three Times a Lady") -- all great songs, certainly, but all available on numerous other anthologies as well.
