Euforia contains semi-acoustic live versions of some of Fito Paez's best songs as well as a couple of new compositions. The more organic sound works very well and contrasts with the often heavily produced original versions of the songs. The beautiful "Mariposa Tecknicolor," for example, is significantly slower, emphasizing the melancholic qualities of the song. A perfect pop song to begin with, "Mariposa Tecknicolor" gains additional dimensions here. The excellent versions of "11 y 6" and "Ciudad de Pobres Corazones" are other highlights. Among the new songs, "Cadaver Esquisito," with its somewhat surrealistic lyrics, is the most impressive. Several of the tracks really benefit from the tasteful new soundscape and in some cases even outshine the original studio versions. This makes Euforia one of Paez's stronger album releases.
