Errol Parker's unusual music (which uses bitonality and simultaneous soloing) has never really caught on due to its complexity, but it is well worth exploring. This fine CD finds Parker sticking to drums and utilizing such top players as trumpeter Philip Harper, altoist Donald Harrison, and guitarist Cary De Nigris. Together the seven-horn pianoless ensemble creates unusual versions of "A Night In Tunisia" and "Ol' Man River" and six originals by the leader.
