While the incredible bombast of a band like Nightwish is enjoyable enough all on its own, the DVD/double-album set End of an Era brings the symphonic metal band's larger-than-life sound to the arena with a massive live set. Performing in their native Finland during the tour for their 2004 album, Once, this set finds the band delivering a powerful performance to an enthusiastic crowd, creating an energy that makes it easy to get drawn into the show in a way that's wholly unique to live albums. In addition to the live set, which includes covers of songs like Andrew Lloyd Webber's "The Phantom of the Opera" and Pink Floyd's "High Hopes," the DVD contains a documentary about the couple weeks leading up to the concert, allowing fans a behind-the-scenes look at what goes into putting on such a rock spectacular.
