This is volume two of "Afrosax" instrumental covers of past popular songs from Cape Verde and Brazil. Some of the slower ballads suffer from a monotonous sentimentality and are not very engaging. The sax work is good but the swing and energy level is lacking on these tracks. Nando da Cruz's "Petit Pays" is given competent treatment and engenders some of the characteristic Cape Verdean swing. "Mexe, Mexe" is the best track on the album. The dance quotient is high and the swing is irresistible. But unless you are familiar with some of the older songs, you will find "Mexe, Mexe" to be the sole draw here.
