This compilation finds Drew and his Hit Crew tackling the jams of 2002 in their well-intentioned remake style. Nothing here sizzles like the original hits, but some of the tracks at least seem genuine in their emulation. Nelly's "Ride Wit Me" is appropriately smooth and sassy, while a similar vocal effect helps Drew's "One More Time" get at the bounce of Daft Punk's original. While Drew's Famous Pop Hits 2002 focuses mainly on club and dance-pop hits, there are a few nods to the larger Top 40 landscape, most notably a subtle version of Lifehouse's "Hanging by a Moment." The album won't fool anyone into thinking it's for real, and Crazy Town's "Butterfly" peaked in 2001. But overall, Drew and his people have made a pretty solid remake record.
