AllMusic Review by

Containing four of the five A-sides from Don Charles' Joe Meek-produced singles, the Don Charles EP might be considered the cream of the material the singer cut for the producer, though the pair were no longer working together by the time this was issued in mid-1963. Though Charles was a better singer than many of the artists with whom Meek worked in the early '60s, these are pretty routine, uninteresting lightweight period pop songs with a slight teen idol/pop/rock bent, though Meek's touch can be heard in some of the orchestration and background voices. If you want a facsimile of the original EP with original artwork and liner notes, it's one of the dozen EP-CDs contained in the 2007 box set Joe Meek: The EP Collection.
