This companion piece to the Johnny Knoxville comedy may seem like a mess upon scanning the play list -- John Swihart's Napoleon Dynamite score got its own separate release -- but its eccentricities end up being its saving grace. As far as compilations go, especially those tied in with a film, the listener is usually assaulted with track after track from new artists who just happen to be share labels/distributors with the film itself. That the producers of Daltry Calhoun saw fit to throw in everyone from Lee Hazlewood ("Run Boy Run") to Kim Wilde ("Kids in America"), while also catering to nationally ignored Chicago royalty like Kelly Hogan and Nora O'Connor -- they also managed to include a mash-up of Wu-Tang Clan and Marty Robbins -- makes this oddball collection worthy of a slot on anyone's shelf.
