AllMusic Review by

In 1999, the Dallas Stars beat the Buffalo Sabres in six games to win the NHL playoffs and the Stanley Cup. This album recalls the sounds of that season in both words and music, mixing energizing tracks like Republica's "Ready to Go," with montages of game highlights and play-by-play calls. "Down Go the Oilers" recalls the multiple overtime victory that put Dallas in the Western Conference semifinals; "On to the Finals!!!" tracks their win over the Colorado Avalanches to compete for the Stanley Cup. There's a remake of "Rock Part II," a pretty good live version of "Hit Me With Your Best Shot," from (the real) Pat Benatar, and the Zambonis' devotional anthem, "Hockey Week." "The Celebration" weaves celebratory player statements into a triumphant musical score. Dallas Stars won't have much resonance for those unfamiliar with the team or its 1999 campaign. But it's highly recommended as a keepsake for the Stars faithful.
