AllMusic Review by

The center of Grass' mid-'90s catalog tends to lie in some of the most boring and banal punk and power-pop territories possible, but even this genre supplies a few pleasantries -- Crescent takes the sound of Pollen's Bluette into slightly more polished territory (shades of the Chapel Hill sound are evident), and there's something in the band's tight composition and fuzzy hooks that makes this sound far more appealing than it should. Crescent might be filed beside the work of bands like Queen Sarah Saturday as solid and moderately appealing near-indie rock.
