Fortunately, Hollywood CDs are budget-priced 'cause there'd be an outraged public if these were full-priced. The reason? Amid the 20 tracks included in this particular collection, at least a quarter are certifiable dreck. If you're a honky tonk holiday music fan, there are several tracks worth having, including Bill Carlisle's "When Snowflakes Fall" and Cowboy Copas's "I'm Tired of Playing Santa Claus to You." Red Sovine is unintentionally a hoot on "A Bed for Baby Jesus." The oddest inclusion on this CD: Ruby Wright's version of Eddie Cochran's "Three Stars," a tribute to Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and the Big Bopper. If you are a fan of the Rhino collection, "Bummed Out Christmas," you will want to hear Lulu Belle and Scotty's "The Empty Christmas Stocking," a tale of a father who would sooner go to prison then see his daughter wake up to an empty stocking.
