Paul W. Teebrooke is one of many pseudonyms of popular U.K. techno artist Steve Pickton, more commonly known as Stasis. Pickton's Teebrooke material is quite a bit more varied than his work as Stasis, mixing the beat-box breaks and acoustic percussion of electro and hardcore with minor-key synth pads and jazzy arrangements which also recall the work of B12 and labelmate Kirk Degiorgio (Degiorgio's Op-Art label released a Teebrooke EP in 1996). Connections, for its part, doesn't stray too far from this approach, although Pickton's use of driving, uptempo breaks a la Plaid and early LFO is surprising and well-conceived.
