Essentially a work by Lars Eric Mattsson, this disc received a lot of attention for featuring the work of Derek Sherinian (Dream Theater, Planet X, Alice Cooper). Unfortunately Sherinian's presence is limited to two keyboard solos and does little to elevate the album beyond the mundane. It's not so much a factor of the musicianship and songwriting as it is the production. Indeed, the album really feels like it was recorded in someone's basement. The flat texture unfortunately reduces the music (good progressive rock/prog metal compositions) into something that feels quite boring. That is a pity, because this could have been a great album.
