This two-hour video presents the free concert Paul Simon gave in Central Park on August 15, 1991, as part of the Born At The Right Time Tour, promoting his album The Rhythm Of The Saints. Simon is accompanied by some of the South American musicians who played on that album, notably many percussionists, some of the African musicians who played on Graceland, and some of the New York session musicians who played on his earlier, jazz-tinged solo albums. He provides a comprehensive career summary, sometimes updating the arrangements of older songs to match the styles of the later ones. It's a massive show, well-executed, and the focus is solely on the music. Except for the gyrations of a couple of the percussionists, there is little in the way of stage business, and Simon himself, saying almost nothing to the crowd, is a restrained performer. That said, the show is as well-filmed (including cameras on a blimp and on a Louma crane) as it is played.
