This CD-only album from 1984 freely mixes earthy and spacey elements to create its unifying theme of intergalactic travel. Most of the tracks run together as Robert Schroeder constructs each piece layer by layer, building on simple basslines, energetic drum rhythms and dynamic sequencer patterns, overlaid with staccato synth riffs, electronic chimes and glissandos, watery ripples, and all manner of sound effects. Robert Schroeder's work is always interesting and somewhat mind-bending, and while Computer Voice is not his most powerful, it is a welcome addition to his catalog.
