Charlie Parker hit his career peak around 1950 and even toured Europe. During this time he performed some concerts with such bop acolytes as trumpeter Rolf Ericson and pianist/tenor saxophonist Gosta Theselius. These tracks, recorded on a rudimentary "wire" recording device by an audience member, are collected on Complete Bird in Sweden. The sound is raw and often fuzzy, but one can clearly make out the solos and the enthusiatic crowd response. While not essential listening, it no doubt holds interest for Parker fanatics looking for something out of the ordinary.
