AllMusic Review by

Brian Keane is a very talented guitarist whose style is similar to Earl Klugh, but with more of an emphasis on single-line play. This session finds Keane branching out into areas such as new age ("Whispering Wings"), James Taylor-style pop ("Girls in the Neighborhood"), commercial jazz ("Western Sky") and pop/fusion ("Urban with Doctor"). The cover art suggests that this hodgepodge is world music; however, there are too many directions trying to be explored here to fully qualify it as such. Keane has scored several films and that along with his excellent acoustic guitar playing are his strengths. "Whispering Wings" and "Common Planet" are good examples of his playing and compositional skills. This recording serves as a nice demo tape to show all of his talents, but as a whole proves to be too inconsistent to merit repeated listening. For those wanting to just hear him play his guitar, check out Snowfalls.
