AllMusic Review by

COMFORT MUSIC 2 is an inspired release by Thomas and Bruno Hasler. The second in their COMFORT MUSIC collection, the Swiss based composers bring tranquility, stillness, and, indeed, comfort to the listener.

COMFORT MUSIC 2 features brilliantly crafted pieces of music using piano, nylon-stringed guitar, flute, cello, and oboe. The Hasler brothers create a unique tapestry of sound that draws from both New Age and European classical music. One hears carefully constructed compositions, but there is no "tension and release" common to classical music. Instead, the Haslers' melodies are surrounded by atmospheric keyboard washes and decidedly simple harmonic structures. This is best heard on pieces such as "For the Two of Us" and "Harvest Moon," the latter of which contains a dulcet oboe melody. "Vision of Change" is the most upbeat track on this album, since it includes a soft drum backbeat. However, the other pieces on COMFORT MUSIC 2 drift effortlessly like a mild country breeze or a rolling ocean wave at eventide.
