Yet another reissue of Selena's earliest recordings, done in 1985 when she was only 14 years old (and building her vocals in Spanish phonetically), this set is a truncated version of Y Sus Inicios, Vol. 1, also issued by Abraham Quintanilla's (Selena's brother) Q-Zone Records. These sides are pretty much fledgling Selena, but her talent is obvious and she is already singing well past her years here, and is obviously on her way to the synthesis that would make her an international star. Very little truly catches fire, but as a snapshot of early Selena, the Q-Zone releases are worth their weight in gold.
