AllMusic Review by

MCA Nashville's Loretta Lynn edition of Chronicles promises "three classic albums," but is nothing more than a repackaging of three drab compilation albums: 20th Century Masters - The Millennium Collection: The Best of Loretta Lynn, Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 and The Gospel Spirit. Yes, these are the original Decca recordings of classics like "Coal Miner's Daughter," "You're Lookin' at Country," "You Ain't Woman Enough to Take My Man," and "Don't Come Home a Drinkin' (With Lovin' on Your Mind)," but generally the packaging is shoddy (no bonus tracks, photos, or liner notes). With the array of decent Loretta Lynn compilations, from single discs to box sets, you can easily skip Chronicles.
