An intimate journey into the folk-seasoned mind of a thoughtful young female singer/songwriter, Catasterpiece finds Mimi Schneider crafting literate, naked acoustic folk-pop songs with a trio of accompanying players to give her acoustic guitar songs additional depth. The album has a considerably loose and relaxed feel to it, and the accompanying lyric sheet serves as a thankful companion to her poetic songs. She doesn't accomplish anything that innovative here, but she does have a fresh, unique sound surely influenced by her Nebraskan context and her obvious folk-country roots.
