AllMusic Review by

Recognized worldwide, the French restaurant Buddha Bar became notorious not only for its cookery, but also for the sounds that compose its ambient soundtrack: ethnic music with oriental flourishes and electronic grooves, in an exotic and irresistible combination. Following the path of other famous bars, e.g. Café del Mar in Ibiza, a series of compilations were produced with this musical style, which was a huge success all over the world. This CD, maybe the first Brazilian production in this style, is an Azul Music partnership with Oreade that licensed some tracks for this work. It brings several tracks with remixed versions of Nawang Khechog (a flute player who already played with Laurie Anderson, Joan Baez and Kitaro); the Brazilians Danilo Tomic (on the shakuhachi -- a Japanese bamboo flute), Alberto Marsicano, Corciolli, Luz da Ásia, DJ Gauss, and Giba Reys; and, also, the European instrumentalist Karunesh (who took part in the Buddha Bar compilations) and Rama IV (from Thailand). This CD is a new concept in relaxation.
