AllMusic Review by

The Broken Dreams series applied the Pebbles approach to '60s British rock, assembling dozens of rare tracks in the "beat," mod, R&B, and psychedelic styles for collectors. Since the original release of these albums in the 1980s, a lot of the better songs have been reissued on better compilations, in better fidelity, which diminishes the LPs' value. Based purely on the music itself, these compilations are pretty good, offering an assortment of decent overlooked cuts, with the occasional near-classic by the likes of the Syn or the Poets. There are also rare tracks by relatively well-known acts like the Nashville Teens, the Nice, Genesis, and Chris Farlowe which are hard to find otherwise.
