This budget ten-song selection delivers the early rock & roll hits from 1956 as part of Rhino's ongoing Billboard chart hit series. Big-ticket items include a pair from Elvis "Don't Be Cruel" and "Hound Dog"), Carl Perkins' "Blue Suede Shoes," Gene Vincent's "Be Bop a Lula," and Frankie Lymon and the Teenagers' "Why Do Fools Fall in Love." Also aboard are a pair of classics from Elvis ("All Shook Up" and "Jailhouse Rock"), Chuck Berry ("School Day"), and the Everly Brothers' "Wake Up Little Susie." Hits from Jim Lowe, Fats Domino, Bill Haley, Sanford and Clark and Buchanan and Goodman's novelty break-in "The Flying Saucer" complete the set.
