Another in Rhino's continuing line of pre-rock popular music anthologies featuring ten hits from the 1920s. This six-disc slate accents tunes that were hits as determined by Billboard. The first disc contains seminal country from Vernon Dalhart alongside light fluff from Guy Lombardo and Selvin's Novelty Orchestra. The dominant acts are Paul Whiteman & His Orchestra, Al Jolson and Gene Austin, who have six of the 10 selections, including "Valencia," "Sonny Boy" and "My Blue Heaven." The mastering is superb.
