With an extremely active recording schedule, Japanese bossa nova master Lisa Ono puts out at least one fresh album each year. More often, she produces a couple of full-length entries and a slew of successful singles. As a result, she also releases a best-of collection every few years, covering that recent material. The 2008 installment covers material from 2002 to 2006, and incorporates a wide array of regional styles into her bossa nova form. Italian pieces from Questa Bossa Mia, Cuban pieces from the Romance Latino trilogy of albums, American country from the Jambalaya album, chanson from Dans Monile are here, along with a sneak peak at her version of American soul with an early recording of her bossa-fied Marvin Gaye's "What's Going On."
