Flashy Zairians get the press, but Misiani's Shirati Band skips the hyper-kinetic overkill for a straightforwardness that updates what John Storm Roberts calls the Kenyan plain-man style. This compilation of '80s material is chock full of more goodness than even the best soukous CDs. No gimmicks, no machines, no excuses for missing this.
