This may well be the world's first all-ska movie soundtrack, not counting movies like Dance Craze and This Are Two Tone, which were actually ska documentaries. Although some of the main program's eleven songs will be familiar to aficionados of U.S. ska -- included are the Toasters' "Brixton Beat" and the magnificent "Cumbia del Sol" from Let's Go Bowling -- the remaining six bonus tracks are the real payoff: rare dub versions of Isaac Green and the Skalar's wonderful "Don't Count" and Skavoovie and the Epitones' "The River," as well as a number of hard-to-find tracks from Dr. Ringding and a nice Articles outtake. Some of the best moments on this album are actually reggae numbers rather than ska, strictly speaking, but no matter. You'll probably never get to see the movie, but do seek out this soundtrack.
