While licentious attitudes abound in Scandinavia, the full-on sleaze of veteran hard rockers Backyard Babies has little precedent outside of the U.S.'s own Sunset Strip. Their self-titled sixth album is a smorgasbord of snake-bitten Guns 'N Roses-style hip swing, with tattooed singer Nicke Borg in fine form. Lead track “Fuck Off & Die” is pure attitude, and “Back on the Juice” is a lethal toxin in song form. Even power ballads like “Abandon” are ramshackle-like vintage Johnny Thunders, unshaven and not quite ready for mainstream radio, with just a little tremor in the hands.
