AllMusic Review by

Paired with pianist Oscar Peterson, Billie Holiday sings 21 of her songs on Autumn in New York, including the title track, "Solitude," "Stormy Weather," "Blue Moon," "East of the Sun," and "Lover, Come Back to Me" (though the compilation is missing "Fine and Mellow," "Body and Soul" and "Strange Fruit," among others). Lady Day's voice sounds quite good here, and works extremely well with Peterson's subtle yet impassioned keys. The packaging is a little lacking (the album was released by Italian-based label Giants of Jazz), but overall it's a pretty good release.
