This recording contains music by Marc Battier, Sarah Hopkins, Larry Austin, Ed Osborn, Daniel Goode, I.Wayan Sadra (gamelan), Craig Harris, Amnon Wolman, Graeme Gerrard, and Steven Paxton with Paula Claire, David Rothenberg, Simon Running, and Erling Wood. Last, but not least, the compilation includes Kenneth Atchley's take on Don Giovanni (Act 1, Scenes 1-4); it's a musical conversation with the characters of Da Ponte's libretto for Mozart's opera about the cultural myth of Don Juan and the history of our attitudes about sexuality (and "going to hell" for sharing sensual feeling). A subtle, surreal evocation for voices and electronics with a highly poetic and intelligent text by the composer.
