AllMusic Review by

The sophomore release from this female-fronted Columbus, OH, quartet is a good example of what an indie band can do with no assist from major record labels. With solid hooks and layered modern rock riffs, Another Cloudy Day in Eden is replete with declarations of individualism and self-determination, expressed through the guttural, scorching vocals of lead singer Suzen Carson. Songs such as the percussion-thick "Ice Cream Man," the cautiously optimistic "Sometimes," and the angry "Coitus Interruptus" are driving and emphatic with hard-hitting, classic rock-lite melodies. Throwing a bit of blues, punk, and metal into the mix, the Susans stretch the definition of alternative music. Their punk metal influences morph to create a collection of catchy, hook-laden rock from the first note to the last. Another Cloudy Day in Eden is muscular music with an insinuating dose of dark, moody rock that is yet another intriguing find from the nation's Heartland.
