Here's an interesting collection, a 15-track compilation of Harold Arlen tunes as interpreted on the radio by various stars between 1931 and 1956. It's an interesting blend of singers, big bands, jazz artists, and Arlen himself, all taking tunes -- both famous ("Let's Fall in Love," "Over the Rainbow," "Blues in the Night") and less celebrated ("As Long As I Live," "Sweet and Hot") -- from the composer's songbook . The transfers vary wildly, but the concept's a strong one, and worth a listen or two.
