AllMusic Review by

The soundtrack for 2012's American Reunion, the sequel to the 1999 teen comedy hit American Pie, offers up a serviceable mix of kitschy mid-'90s offerings from artists like Wreckx-N-Effect, Boyz II Men, and the Spice Girls, and rote party anthems from 2000s go-to soundtrack mules like Good Charlotte and Cobra Starship. By choosing to have it both ways rather than stick to the steady diet of '90s nostalgia that populates the film proper, the soundtrack feels a little half-baked, even with the addition of two selections from composer Lyle Workman's original score, the first of which tries admirably to turn the Porky's-inspired sex romp into something more akin to a Cameron Crowe coming of age montage, but ultimately, like most everything else here, it comes up short.
