It's almost impossible to believe that even decades on since the inception of the Northern soul club scene, DJs and record collectors are somehow still exhuming lost classics of '60s soul -- the third volume in the Allnighter series, aptly subtitled The Continuing Sound of Northern Soul in the New Millennium compiles 24 vintage singles that previous generations somehow overlooked, but which are now getting dancefloor airplay some 30-plus years after their original appearance. It's not too much of a shock that none of these cuts rivals the true perennials of the Northern soul circuit -- after all, they were passed over for good reasons -- but if you've heard the old chestnuts so many times that they now seem as familiar and overplayed as a Motown chart-topper, this is as good a place as any to get your fix. Highlights include the Magicians' "Love Let's Try Again," Curtis Lee's "Is She in Your Town?" Bobby Lee Timberlake's "You Hurt Me" and the Parakeets' "I Love You Like I Do."
